Pennywise the clown is one of the most iconic Stephen King characters to ever appear on screen, so the casting for the upcoming adaptation of It seems to have been a drawn out process. A few names have been thrown around, including Will Poulter and Kirk Acevedo, but now that Cary Fukunaga is ruled of the directing, they’re no longer in the picture.

Andrés Muschietti (who made Mama) is confirmed to be in the directors chair, and when the film comes out next year it will be Bill Skarsgård, from Hemlock Grove and Divergent. Other actors confirmed include Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

I’m a bit skeptical about this remake (as I am with all remakes, to be fair), but who knows, it could end up being sick. Fingers crossed. It is due to come out in 2017, so we’ll have to wait and see…
